The provider doesn'tseem to be very reliable. It's down from time to time... right at the moment everything is ok.
You sometimes have to try again after a few hours.

The issue is that its hosted at my friend's place and while he has the best DSL available, internet in NZ, well, sucks (and its expensive). Worse, they're in the years-long process of upgrading everything from adsl to adsl-2 and unbundling everything at the same time so service will sometimes disappear and require a modem reset or other manual intervention to restore.
On the upside, said hosting is free, and I can pretty much do what I want site-wise (or get my friend to do it for me).
I've though about moving it to wikia.com or similar, but there are a couple of major issues with that:
1) Being able to re-host the utilities - as non-media binaries, uploading them into a foreign controlled wiki may not be possible/allowable.
2) Copyright - significant portions of the wiki are copyrighted to other people, and Stars!wiki's current policy is copy first and remove if the author complains. IIRC the only thing I've explicitly received permission for is Stars! FAQ.

As long as credit is given to the author and the content not changed, I can't imagined that anybody of the old vets would complain about their articles still read and in use.

For the record, I checked wikia policy on: files & copyrights
Files: No html or zip uploads (I assume that means no .rar/exe etc too)
Copyright: GPL or CC only pretty much. (I know Stars! Wiki says GPL, but that's only coz I slipped during the last upgrade.)
Either policy excludes Stars! Wiki.
