 Hi!

I´ve recently moved, to Belize from Europe, and I forgot to bring my copies(and license) of STARS with me. I´m looking for another turn based strategy/war game until I can get my copy sent here!

Do you have any other games you can recommend as a break from STARS!? Emphasis on depth and game play, multi player support would be nice.

Looking at Dominions 3 at the moment and it looks interesting but the multi player function maybe will suffer from the key concept of dominion as multi player games with alliances would not really work.

I´d be thankful for all recommendations!

 You could try Space Civilizations

It's turn / tik based and quite interesting. I played 4 or 5 games of it though I still prefer Stars.

 I recomend Galactic Assault from Paradox Interactive. I think you can find it at www.galacticassault.com

It is a turn based scifi ground fighter with dozens of unit designs for infantry, armor, artillery, transport, naval, and air support.
There is a huge single player campaign, a dozen or so stand alone scenarios, but the jewel is the multi-player action.

You could also download Stars! jrc4 right from AutoHost and have someone email your serial code to you. Assuming you don't know it by heart, that is. Rolling Eyes

 XCOM is indeed one of the best games ever made, and I'd go for Civ2 from the Civ series.

You'd have to specify which MoO though - both MoO1 and MoO2 were great, but they're completely different games, hence the disaster that was MoO3, where they tried to combine them (plus add a heap of new stuff) Wink

Other strategy games I enjoy are Heroes of Might & Magic 3 (the others are good too, but HoMM3 is amazing) and (in a completely different vein) Hearts of Iron 2.

Are you sure I don't know you? That list is very creepy. Guess which is the only Civ I've played? Guess which is the only HoMaM I've played? And you know X-Com and like it too.

 Heh - well, they're darn good. I used to have "HoMM3 parties" with my best friend from school - he'd come over and stay a whole weekend at my house and we'd play a hotseat co-op game of HoMM3 starting on friday evening and then from 6am to midnight on saturday and sunday - good times Laughing

Did you have either of the expansions (Armageddon's Blade and Shadow of Death)? They were pretty awesome too - some of the new heroes were great.

Another good strategy game is Battle for Wesnoth, and the best bit is it's free!
