This is a ranked game for Beginners/Intermediates:
A remapped medium dense universe, the universe mapped into the shape of an equilateral triangle...

The game will be defined with the following specifiers: ABBS
The super-host, that is me, donjon, will receive the race files, build the universe, and award rank credits and demerits.
The host, Micha will be playing as the protagonist in the "H" position. The other players will play down at the bottom where all underlings should be
The Host can do whatever he sees fit in order to protect his position(without regenning ofc) the players can do whatever they see fit to take over the Host's position (and when they do eliminate him from his homeworld and colonize it; they will win.)
There are the following strictures on races:
There can be No CA races!
There can be No PP races!
and JOAT will not be allowed to take NAS...
Due to the nature of this universe, you can expect homeworlds of the underlings to be relatively close, that is, between 130 and 140 lightyears. (This is the reason PP is banned)
Of course, the host may choose any race he sees as appropriate.
All players must take centered habs, this means you may shrink or expand, (or make immune) a hab value, but you MAY NOT shift it to the left or the right.
There will be no pregame alliances, however, during the game you may establish alliances... just remember there is only one player that can win
Standard cheat disclaimers stand: Only split fleet dodge and chaff are allowed.
Likely the best backstabber will win
If you are interested send me (donjon at shc dot edu dot bz) your racefile and password.

What size/density would this game use? I suppose what I'm really interested in is how many planets would there be around each HW so I can plan my race design accordingly. Also, would that density be uniform from bottom to top? (Apologies - I don't know much surrounding the mechanism of moving planets around to know this). That raises a second question - what would happen to an IT's second planet with this setup? Thanks!
|
The size is medium, the density is dense... however, with the remapping it will appear that the planets are packed or close to it
Secondary worlds for IT races will be placed closer to the boss. (but still a reasonable distance away.)

dj

You mean in-game, or also out-of-game?
|
Do you mean like sending a hit squad out to secure his position against a player who is potentially going to ursurp his position?
|
No. More like setting his orders for the next 5 turns and then a gentime of 30 minutes, or directly force-genning them. Or banning his attackers, or...
|
Ah, I see, no, the host will not regen or forcegen or ban without consultation with me. Micha is a good guy and he knows he cannot win, he knows that he is the impediment for you guys

Micha will win comfortably from this position, if he wants to. Certainly it's a superior starting position... And the opponents all have similar habs, which puts a big cramp on cooperation.
To a significant extent he will have to 'play to lose' for this game to work out.

Lets forget that... The host (Micha) cannot win, by definition, and is well aware of the fact that he cannot win, he is playing as a stumbling block for the other players.

Donjon...you might think about editing the HW habs as any player choosing an immunity is likely to not have that hab centered for their HW.
