Was inspired to start a new game since I'm now down to one real-life game and one of my real-life players has... decided not to play anymore (loser). Anyways, since my Pitch Black game got absolutely nowhere, I figured I'd try a slightly different tactic...
The Time: 2400 AC - After Collapse
The Place: The (Former) Empire Of Man
Well, it finally happened. After 100 years of expansionist imperialism and 100 more years of revolutionary uprising, the Human Genome Virus has finally run it's course. The empire of Man, formerly spanning hundreds of planets and millions of cubic light years, has been reduced to a handful of sparsely populated worlds, enclaves of isolationists who hid underground, living off of lichen and beer brewed from recycled urine, until the last traces of the Virus were gone.
Finally emerging from their bunkers, they see the cities demolished, the glorious spaceports reduced to heaps of rubble, and interplanetary communications all but extinct. A few barely functional ships, little more than shuttles, are found still operating in orbit, but by and large... they blew it all up. Damn you.... damn you all to hell.
As each world struggles to restore it's former glory, it soon becomes evident that other worlds survived. Unsure who's a friend and who's an enemy, the Empires of Man rise from the ashes... but who can they really trust?
THE RULES
---------
PRT - Everyone is Jack of all Trades... yay humans!
LRT - This is where the factioning comes in. The following are the major (former) factions:
Clockwork Industries - Increased Fuel Efficiency, manufacturer of top-quality spacecraft
MetaTerraFirma - Total Terraforming, world engineers
Valhalla Excavation - Advanced Remote Mining, resource specialists.
Stellar Homes - Advanced Starbases, Low Starting Pop, zero-gee society.
If you want to pick IFE, you're a Clockwork, and cannot pick TT, ARM, AS or LSP (you can figure out the rest). All the other LRTs are ok.
You can set anyone to Neutral, but you can only set your own faction to Friend. To make sure things are balanced, we'll see how the registering goes, and some redistribution of factions may be required (if we get nine MTFs and three CI's, I'm gonna kick out sme MTFs.)
If anyone has any more ideas for factions (combinations of RS and UR, I dunno!), let me know.
With everyone as a JOAT, I hope it helps to reduce some of the complicated racial design, and place more emphasis on the skills.
The standard cheat restrictions apply.
.....
How's that sound?
EDIT: I wanna play, so looking for host.
