Spawned from the End Game Diplomacy and Backstabbing thread in The Bar, I'm going to create a new game with the following parameters (assuming I get enough interested people):

No one is allowed to use the 'friend' status. All players can classify other races as only 'neutral' or 'enemy.'

Universe size and density based on number of players: 3-5 small dense, 6-8 medium normal, 9-12 medium dense, 13-16 medium packed.

Distant starting positions
Slower Tech Advances
Acc BBS
NO Public Player Scores
Victory by submission.

Turns generated through Autohost with 24 hours maximum between turns.

Players of intermediate skill level and above are requested. (All races are welcome, chaff is allowed, and the standard cheats/exploits are not permitted.)

Thoughts and comments welcome.

Question, what about tech swapping between neutrals, NAPS. Allowed or not?

I think you would need to have somebody checking the turns to make sure no one utilised the friend status. As in all players emailing their turns to that person to check and then that person uploads all the turns to make sure it isn't abused.

Yes. Tech swapping between neutrals, NAPS, and even alliances are allowed. However players will have to work without each other's stargates and around each other's minefields. (Which should put a few wrinkles in things.)

Well, the game is going to be running on autohost, and I plan on hosting AND playing. So I'm really hoping that people are honest and keep each other in check (takes 2 people to break the 'friend' rule - if anyone approaches you to do so, let me know immediately!). Blatant abuses should be obvious to other players in the universe (like a huge third party war fleet popping up and a neighbor's stargate, or a lot of ships flying through someone else's minefields at high speed).

Don't give up on Penta!
That game looks like it will be a blast, would be worth the effort to get 2 good team mates.
Of course, the competition may scare some people away, but I am looking forward to seeing someone kick Micha and team's butt Twisted Evil
