Very important bulletin!
For all Stars! 2.7J users
There is an extremely dangerous virus that has managed by way of sub space communications to attach itself to many exe Stars! files even bypassing firewall and virus detection systems. The nature of the virus is to send destructive packets throughout your hard drive and dismantle game files as well as corrupt serial numbers. Several Stars! enthusiasts have already suffered extreme damage in recent days: loss of games files and inability to reinstall Stars!
The only way to verify if you have the infection is to go to the start (picture) screen and check the version number you are using. If it says 2.7J you are still clean. If it says 2.7j you are infected by the new Stars! virus. There should be a fix available at AutoHost download area. Credit for virus detection by April Juan Fulentes.
