Stars unexpectedly exits

Hi folks,

In the past few days my computer has this annoying habit of kicking me out of Stars. I'll be doing a turn, or even doing something else while stars is running, and out of nowhere the Stars splash screen comes up, overwriting the Stars window that was there (although most of the panes within are blank). The Continue Game option is greyed out, but I can go into Open and get back into the game I was in.

I'm using Windows XP 2002 Media Edition, and I don't recall doing anything to my system in the past couple of weeks. Has anyone run into this kind of behavior before or have any ideas?

With XP Professional edition i have seen how Stars! was crashing often. Rebooted the computer and it was OK again. Probably my own buggy programs and tools made something unstable there.

The behaviour that you describe i have never seen with stars. Sounds like something is accelerating menu\file\close against your will there. Confused
