I will be hosting/playing a new game for beginers.
Galaxy size be small and density will depend on the number of players but will contain approximately 30 planets per player.
The following race restrictions apply.
CA can not take OBRM and must have 150 points set to defenses.
Joat can not take NAS and must set 50 points to defenses.
IT can not take IFE and must leave 50 points set to defenses.
SD must set 50 points to defenses.
Usual cheats apply.
I will ask a well know 3rd party check the race files.
No public player scores.
The game will end when all players have conceeded to the winning player. Alliances are allowed but only one player will be considered the victor.
Turns will generate on MTWTF until turn 50 then will slow to MWF until the game ends. Breaks for major holidays if requested by the players.

Any chance of getting a medium sized map? I'd like to play too.

I'd consider a medium sized map if we had an overwhelming response to this thread and more than 8 players signed up before I get things organized.
My preferance is for a small map so no player can hide from my wrath slowly hyper-producing in the corner, but hey, I'm flexible!

Thank you Micha.
Those signing up for the game can send their racefiles and passwords to Micha for verification. You can send me your racefiles, without passwords, so I can set up the game (but not see your race design), once I have notice from Micha that I have 8 (or more) players.

I wanna run a few more tests on my race design before I submit it. I might also have to wait until after next Wednesday because that's my final exam day. I hope that's okay.
Also, if it's okay, I'd like to know the size and density settings you plan on using, that way I can more accurately gauge my race and make adjustments if needed.

If you feel you are still a beginer jump in. If you want to you could give yourself a little handicap, say 20 extra RW points to defenses.

By "usual cheats" are you asking what they are or how to do them or both?
There's a list somewhere but I'll tell you what I can remember.
Off the top of my head the usual cheats that are banned are:
1) North/south, east/west mine field penetration cheats (2 separate cheats.)
2) Multiple packets from a single world.
3) Pop hack (external mem hack to create pop from nothing.)
4) SS pop steal (fixed in JRC4.)
5) Dirt-cheap starbase.
6) Ore upload into oblivion.
7) UR/CE free resources (I think this is a cheat because it's unethical.)
8) Sometimes "Split Fleet Dodge" is considered a cheat but most times not I think.
9) Chaff (considered a legal ethical tactic which is seldom band.)
That's all I can think of, there might be more. But the usual ban is all but items 7 and 8.

SgtWilko, sure we have room, make a race file and send it to Micha with your PW.

Like kelzar, I have played some multiplayer games but have never gotten a win. I was expecting to play Big Fish, but that seems to have gotten cancelled. I think I would consider myself as an advanced beginner. May I join this game?
Assuming the answer is yes, I am sending a racefile and password to micha.
