Save game, then copy all .Mx, .Hx, .Xx and .HST file to a subfolder with the name of the current game year.
Whenever you want to reset game to that year, you copy all those files back to the original folder (replace files), reload host instance od Stars (if you're running a game with more players), and reload your turn file.

to save a game at the current turn when playing against the Artificial Intelligence races, just simply use the Save and Submit option from the file menu.
the next time you open the game, you wil be where you were.
If you gen a turn, Stars! makes a backup copy of the previous turn automatically in a Backup folder under the same folder where you keep the game you are playing. Just copy hte files from th ebackup foler to your game folder and you will be able to replay the previous turn and make changeds to change the outcome.
