I am probably not the only one who doesn't have enough time for a full sized stars! game. This one will mean much less effort from all players. I will be playing in this game, so password your race files
Game will be generated by Ron.
# of players: 4 to 6 (6 preferred)
Skill level: Intermediate and above
Ranked: No
Version: 2.6rc4
Autohost: Yes
Turns generated: Tu/Th/Sa morning. Faster if all players are in. Possible reduction to 2 turns per week if the majority of the players wants to.
If you need a pause, just ask the host - please do so at least two days before the deadline! We will pause from Christmas to New Year's Eve.
Host is playing: No - Ptolemy is hosting this one.
Universe size: Small Normal, Distant Starting Positions
Starting conditions: ACC BBS
Victory conditions: Last Man standing or consensus
PRTs forbidden: SD (too time consuming)
There will be a penalty of 200 leftover points for CA (set to defenses) plus they may not take TT. JOAT may not take NAS and must put 100 leftover points to defenses.
Special Rules:
- no cheats (except chaff and split-fleet dodge)
- all players have to be set to "enemy"
- no alliances, no tech trading, no NAPs, no coordinated attacks
- no communication at all - ingame or outgame
- Hab must be centered (or immune) in all 3 fields
All in all - a simple, aggressive game.
The game intends to start in about two weeks. Send your race files to andreas(at)studnitz.de.
Does anyone volunteer to check the race files?
Regards,
Andreas
P.S: Game name wanted. Any suggestions?

I can check the race files for you Wizard. You can either have player send me the race files and the passwords or they can send the files to you and the passwords to me and you can send all the files to me at the same time. Either way is fine.
Since nobody's allowed to communicate - how about calling the game 'Communication Blackout'

I am checking the race files for Wizard to verify compliance with the race creation rules. So far, I have received 2 race files. I am sure that if you wish to join the game Gianluca, you are welcome. Just create your race and send it to me with the password. I will verify it and send the race file to Wizard without the password.
By my count, there are still 4 slots open.
An afterthought for the game name - - since it's for busy people - how about 'Lazy Days'?

Ahh Wizard,
I still am missing YOUR race file for checking.
I recommend that in this type of game there is no search for replacement players. Let things happen as they happen. For any player that drops out, please inform your host to set you to inactive. (load up your queues first with build orders to use up your minerals and make it a little harder for the attacker to take your planets. Also, have your planets build max defenses.
With all players permission, I would like the turn download passwords so that when I have time I can see whats happening - I will have downtimes where I am simply looking for something to do.
Ptolemy
P.S. When you all think of it, please send me your .h file.

Just make a race and send it to me for verification - I will forward the race to Wizard without the password. From the first 2 races I've verified, it should be an interesting game.

Ptolemy wrote on Thu, 02 November 2006 14:35 | C'mon guys,
I'm not interested in seeing who is playing how. I just think it would be interesting to see how this game goes. Based on the 2 first races, I think this is going to be very interesing.

Thx

I have no intention of looking at every turn - nor do I have that much free time. I just would like to look in once in a while and see what's happening.
I am VERY certain that nothing will be happening that I haven't seen before.

So, what are you expecting to discover?

Look on the plus side. You all have an impartial judge available if there are any disputes.
Ptolemy
P.S. Thanks Kotk.

O.k., o.k., persuaded You all are right I don't worry about anybody. Ptolemy, you will get my files And, in March I'll look for a duell. So may be, after your first impressions you will give me the honor to duell against you, Ptolemy
