hmmm... Not quite sure how this equates to Stars!

Stars! is more like a chess game where there is a victory. I like to think of Stars! as an expanded version of chess with quantifiable unknowns.

WoW (according to the blog) can never be 'won' as there is apparently no end to the game. I've never bothered with it myself.

Sure, anything can be done 10/7. Nod Chat in some talker, watch TV, play some game (not neccessarily online and not neccessarily computer game) ... just name it.

However Stars! (or chess) are significally less likely candidates for such addiction. Smile Players are more of the intelligent sort. People who can analyse various situations (including their own personal life) easier, make conclusions and take steps. Wink

As for that blog, i was slightly surprized. I have seen addicts of the FPS games and they are understandable since they fight with other humans against other humans. Also I can imagine how some RPG can be played for a few weeks if you never havent played one. Rolling Eyes Still ... these get awfully repetive afer a while. Confused Walking in virtual dungeon 10/7 and then fireball some NPC critters all night long so your drawn image can be equipped with The Pink Boots of +55 dumbness and can sell the Blue Boots of +54 dumbness. Yuck

IMO a lot of RPGs suffer from horrible game design because of this. The important thing is supposed to be the story and roleplaying, not exploiting minor things for hours on end to get an advantage.
