We now have 8-9 players - tho I need to check everone's still in, particularly those who are yet to send a race file.

Are the starting cities random, or will there be some attempt to place them historically?

Random (except Athens). I considered historic placement but thought that gameplay was more important - i.e. more even placement.

Macedonia is actually a bit off map - it's more Western Greece/ Eastern Asia Minor/Crete.

I've created 3 versions of the map with 19 cities (8-10 players), 24 cities (11-13 players) & 29 cities (14-16 players).

I will PM everyone with the 19 city version.

Game will start as soon as I have 8+ race files. Once the min. # race files are in I will announce 3 days to go & will then send race files to Donjon for setup - so I'm guessing that the game will start around Jul 18-20.

It is now time to make a few decisions. I encourage (players in this game only) to vote for:

1. Slow Tech. My vote is NO.
2. Public Scores. 3 choices: no, yes, from 2480. My vote is from 2480.
3. Play on weekends. My vote is YES.
4. Alliance size limit. The original post said 4 but was meant for a full compliment. Should the limit be 3 or 4? My vote is 4.

I was going to hold a vote re. Random Events but unless there is strong feeling about it there will be NO RANDOM EVENTS. This is mainly to eliminate wormholes. An important aspect of this scenario is the distance involved between "cities" - wormholes would partially eliminate this aspect for some lucky players.

Voting will be democratic - if there is a tie then I will make the decision.

One more thing.

In case you forgot or missed it - IT and PP (Dual HW) are banned it this game. If u submitted a race file with 1 of those PRTs u should design a new one ASAP.

I'm not in this game so take my comments as mere punditry.

Given the basis for this game I think that you should have Slow Tech because the tech during the Diadochi period did not significantly change. You also should have PPS from '20 because all the successor empires had excellent intel on all the others.
