 For all you boffins out there still toying with joining us(thousands I'm sure Very Happy ) this is a copy of the email I've just sent out to the players.

You'll have at least a week to sort out races. At this stage we have 9 players. So assuming no-one drops out and none of Roberts friends wish to play we'll wait a bit for a 10th player. I'd rather not have to evict someone(I'm a nice guy see Smile )

I'll keep accepting new players after the teams are assigned until we get 12 players.

Oh and if anyone wish to lead a team let me know so I don't put all the indians in one team and all the chiefs in another.


To clarify a bit...I won't be waiting for 12 players..just accepting up to 12 players...I'll start with 8 or 10 if everything is ready.

Heinz - At this stage you're 13th(1st on the maybe list) but I'm still waiting for confirmation emails from Mosser, The Jorrus and Robert. If they're not back when I assign teams then you're in.

 Hi!
I think, that leaders of the teams could set basic parameters of the races (like PRT, hub, reaserch) and send it to theirs players with passwords to modifiy, then players will send them back to the leaders for last confirmation. You were talking about something like this, but I'm not sure you resolve this. What do you think about this?

 Sounds ok to me, but then I'm not playing. Remember my motivation in hosting this game is primarily to observe & learn, and that includes how each side chooses to organise themselves...where possible...if they get together on IRC to discuss it I'll probably be too busy to be there...I get my fill of stars in 10-15 min bursts when I get the time. The only case of organised teams I remember reading about was a 4x4 way game and every side was CA+IT+AR+??. Ultimately it will be up to the teams to decide.

In thinking about that tho I will pre-gen the game with a seed value and give each team the approximate position of each HW so they can position thier races most effectively.

Considering that last night I sat down and sketched out a possible set of six races for my team, I think I have to agree with Zack. Razz

 I have mistakenly been sent the strategies of the Southern team and while I have deleted their emails unread, to avoid any possible question of ethical compromise, I must resign from the Northern team. I thank the South for their kind offer of accepting me into their team but since I've already strategized with the North there is only one graceful way out of this quandary. My decision to join the North was sudden and caused by the bonds of friendship. But my lack of urgency in notifying the Southern team makes this mess entirely my fault.

My deepest regrets and apologies for any inconvenience that I've caused.
