Greetings!

I always have the feeling that "standard" games, without complicated rules, are among the most wanted for most players. Further in most games ITs are among the winners, so I will ban them in this game (together with CA). Slower tech and no chaffs should make the game not completly standard:).

Further, only players should join which have the time to play the game and which wont stop playing if everything is not going as they expected (i.e. stop playing as soon as under attack). If you join, play until your race is completly destroyed!

Therefore I'd like to start a new game with following settings:

- Game settings:
Hosted on Authost, Host will play!
All skill levels are welcome.
Generation time: starting with 24 hours (except sunday) > later 3-4 generations per week (depending on players wishes). Except larger common hollidays the game will continue without brakes.

Medium/Packed/Distant
Slower Tech Advance
up to 16 players (at least 12)
>AccBBs NO

- PRT
IT and CA banned!!
Joat can only have either NAS or OBRM (so not both!)

- Cheats
only split fleet dodge allowed
NO CHAFFS!
NO pregame alliances!

- Victory conditions
A alliance of maximum 2 players can win the game. So either solo-victory or 2 players win as an alliance. Winner(s) is declared if every activ player agrees. A player has to control at least one planet to be considered activ for voting.

with best regards,
David

Very good rules IMHO Smile I would play, if not already involved in three games. Slower tech advance is very good idea, IMHO.

Perhaps you should name this game No Frills IV Wink

The player shouldn't even consider taking OBRM instead of NAS. Afterall you get 10 extra points choosing NAS, you don't loose anything much, you gain miners. I suggest to ban JoaT+NAS - that is wiser.

Just an advice.

I was going to play in the "Variety of experience" game, but it´s unlikely the game will start. I´d like to join this game, but notice I´m an almost complete beginner.

I wouldn't call 10% extra space on each planet nothing.

JOAT with ARM
and construction expensive
and starts at 4 checked
Enjoys ... 72 mines worth remote mining equipment at start?
OK start mining for no Acc BBS game. Wink Laughing

Yup. That's a lot. But if I had to choose I would go for NAS + miners than extra 10% space. unlimited minerals in the future is more important than extra 10% now.

ARM is not necessary. You get a miner which is able to mine 24kT of each mineral.. so it is more like 24 mines.
But as you said very good for a non-AccBBS start.

Yes and with ARM you get 2 more 24 mine miners... all together it is 72 mines. Cool

Heh, with these settings I'd ban both NAS *and* OBRM for JOATs. When you consider that ACCBSS off and slow tech certainly assists the econ based PRTs, of which JOAT is one of the best, then also consider that the JOAT 'start at 3' (or 4) is also stronger than usual... Of course there's also the miner(s) too, as mentioned. Looks extremely strong right now.

You can count me in. I've just got to try to decide which toy race I'm brave enough to try to face off a JOAT with Laughing

So, we are 4 (with me 5) players. Not so bad start for the first 2 days, so lots of space free.

My email is now visible, you can send files as soon as you want (dont forget to password protect it!!).

Joat: IMHO both NAS and OBRM are very nice for Joats and to compensate some advantages of the Joat in this game settings both together are not allowed.

regards,
David

Accelerated Big Bang start (or something similar).
It is one of the starting options and means you all start with approx 100,000 rather than 25,000 pop.
Its pretty much a standard start these days, a game without it is much less common.

When do we need the race files in?
