Bab5 Game

I see that Babylon 5 game private forum has been removed, does this mean that the game is over? What was the outcome? That was a pretty complicated set of rules/interactions, how well did it work out?

Well I was in the Bab5 game (played the Centari).
I will post a longer response in a week when I get the chance.
In short the game was conceded by the Vorlons to the Shadow after less than 50 years of play (so 2540 ish after jump start). Of the non alligned lesser races, no one or group felt that they could stand against the Shadow Alliance and so they also conceded.
I was part of the Shadow Alliance and when I reached 2nd place (Below Shadows and above Vorlons) it became apparent that we were likely to win.
It was an excelent game but it did become unbalanced (the Shadows had 5 times my resources - and so could have fought and beat any 5 races on their own). I would love to play in a re-run but would suggest 2 changes -
One the Shadow and Vorlon players should both be expert players (or close).
Two they should only be able to chose 2 allies rather than 3.

My reasons for this are although the Vorlon was a good player he was outclassed by the Shadow player, meaning the Light Alliance never really got off the ground.
Second the Alliance of all the other races didnt ever really materialise as several of them were "Shadow Touched" (he had 4 allies when it ended and would have had to drop one in year 2550) and 2 dropped meaning they were only 5 races strong and facing alliances of 4 with 1 strong advanced tech race. If they were 10 of the 16 races I feel they would do better and it would force the V&S to try to win before the young races became strong enough to force them from the universe.
This was meant to be short. Confused

I had taken over the Vorlons for a short period of time as a replacement player - the race was already overrun by the shadows and there was simply no hope.

I never heard anything more after I sent a few mails recommending the Shadows be declared the winner and then turns stopped coming.
