PS2? You really mean PS2?
AFAIK, PS2 isn't plug and play at all (at least it doesn't work ALWAYS, and it's not supposed to work). No, I don't think there are such devices - try looking for USB instead Smile

Yup, confused me too at first ...

I had one of my older pc's with win98 complaining all the time it couldn't find the PS/2 mouse ... well duh, I didn't had one! After each re-install I had to manually add my serial mouse each time ... and that was a *lot* ...

Anyway ... euh, never mind ...

Hi,

As far as I know there is no way to use a PS2 port for data transfer... however, you can use either the printer port or a serial port...

Well....
I take it that you want to get data off this machine, and on another one somewhere else....?

Try the following options;

(i) ENABLE THE USB PORTS!!!! Rolling Eyes
[ I imagine this will either be an option in the BIOS/SETUP or more fiddly, a jumper ]

(ii) The two PC's in the same place? Both have network cards? Buy a bit of Cat5 cross-cable and let them talk to each other.

(iii) Smash open the case, remove the hard drive, and install it in another PC as a slave.

(iv) Take lots of digital photos of the screen... Shocked

Cool

Cross-over (X-over) serial cable, AKA "null modem" was fairly common some time ago, when network cards cost a premium. Easy to buy or even manufacture yourself.

But if the machine is so transfer-unfriendly, I'd suggest using the VGA port, assuming it has a screen, of course, and also that you can get some nifty software and cabling. Sherlock

PS/2 ports aren't PnP. However, a friend of mine created a device which can be used to transfer data (however must be plugged in before boot).

Mainly used for nefarious purposes and was expensive. He was charging around £800 for it (maybe more now).
