what version is the norm now?

I been out of it awhile. What version is the norm that most people are playing with now and that i need to play on autohost with? Is it 2.6J or the 2.6JRC4?

Also what happened to the stars! newsgroup at rec.games.computers.stars ? It seems to have died. Is this now the main place where people announce new games, chat about stars! etc??

This one is the safest to use:

You can use 26jrc3 to play or even 27jrc3 if you want *ahum* sound ...

The version used by Autohost is 2.6JRC4.

SAH is pretty much the only active place left out for stars! community. However "The List" sometimes announces games
