This occured in the game i am in, gave (fleet A) waypoint orders to attack an enemy fleet at warp 9 and gave (fleet B) orders to merge with (fleet A) at warp 8, well the merge worked but(fleet A) DID NOT MOVE, this occured near a wormhole and i do not have cheap engines! Maybe a random event? the waypoint for fleet a was still there ! Shocked

Did the enemy fleet go through the WH?

If the waypoint didn't fall outside of your scanner range and wormholes weren't utilised, then there must have been a targetting problem. Shocked
I've never heard of a bug in any version of Stars regarding this matter, so if you have backups of your previous turn files then it would be advisable to use them.

Actually, there is a bug. I have personally experienced it several times, usually once or twice a game. It's only happened a couple of times when targeting an enemy fleet, though. I haven't been able to discern any sort of pattern. Usually it just happens to freighters.

I've always assummed that I notice it more than others, as I'm fairly fussy about stuff like that.

Just wait till you get the "disappearing fleet" or "disappearing pop" incidents. Those can be much more annoying, especially if it is your main fleet, or the majority of your orgy...Definately a turn restore moment.

Well i just looked back at backups i had 11 destroyers plus 9 spore cloud gastanks attacking enemy fleet, and 3 more spore clouds going to destroyers, plus another destroyer to merge with the 11 destroyers, maybe the angle of attack it was about 45 deg to the south west or being close to the wormhole, anyway attack didnt come off but worked out better next turn ! Maybe one of those A.I. stepped in and decided i should wait till next turn. lol ! Very Happy
