1.) Despite all the talk about role-playing, special rules, cool ideas, etc., etc... once this plain, old, vanilla-style game was posted, the player slots disappeared quicker than greased lightening.

2.) When interested in joining a game, email any old race file you got laying around to hold a spot, then quickly start fine-tuning your potentially real race to send just before the game gens.

Well looks like you're in luck.
There's a game available that's quite similar and it's only just been posted under "new game announcements".

Hmmm. Worded that a bit wrong, didn't I?

I made it in KIS. I was one of those who used lesson number 2. Very Happy

Rename the game to "Keep It Simple, Silly", and we can call the game KISS. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who has thought of that.)

Hm, my old lecturer in systems development talked about the KISS principle, but then it was "Keep It Simple, Stupid".
Well, I guess there is no big difference.. Wink

With first lesson i agree. The games with medium normal or smaller, newbies banned and last man standing have been always among the best ones i remember.
Such simple rules ... work effectively as huge MM disabled, year per game disabled, diplomacy enabled, dropouts and cluelesses banned, large solid alliances disabled and lot of fight encouraged. Wink

As for that second lesson i have seen that even e-mail where you clearly say that you are in will work 99% of times. Normal host does not ask to send some fake race to reserve a slot before all game conditions (including player number) have decided.

I appreciate you taking care of the old, senile player. Where's the emoticon showing the older smiley walking around in his underwear because he forgot to put on his pants? Laughing
