What is the difference between game with scenarion and role playing?
anyway... I think almost all games of Stars! (except duels) must have a scenario. It can be minor or very restrictive, but some extra pattern colours must be added anyway

I'm playing only one at this time (it's just started), and still not sure if I want another one.

scenario games arent that restricted... role play is very restricted (restricted to use only a fleet w/o any planets or sth).

i think you would feel the same as me after a week or so. (i'm currently playing 1 game and i want more)

If I was going to host a new game (which I don't intend to) it would allow a two person team win with pre-game alliance. I would only do this though if I knew how to re-map the universe to place allies close to each other (which I don't).
A third party would have to do this of course.

My skill level is low-intermediate, so ideal games would be high-beginner to mid-intermediate.
Personally I'm not that keen on games with overly restrictive rules although banning certain races (like CA) is fairly common.

Hopefully your new game will incorporate my skill level, but if not I guess I'll just have to wait.

There are a few 3rd parties about that will do stuff like this if you ask. I've set up a few team games in the past, and donjon set up the EA vs IRC game that just started.

The most important thing is to understand very clearly what you want before trying to get it set up. And if you poke around the forums a little bit you can find out just what sort of things can be easily changed.

Essentially:
1. HWs can be moved around a bit (generally north-south only) using utility programs. These produce a few odd display artifacts on the first turn with starting ships.

2. Players can be arranged to be close to friends using a .def file and seed number in setting up the game.

3. Special starting ships and stuff like that requires work with a modified exe file and generally a turn or turn of the game generated outside Autohost.

Def files are fairly easy to use, and are mostly explained in the help file. The part that is missing is the seed.

Map2XY is a program I recently wrote that is very easy to use, open a turn, gen a .map file (universe defination), open the .map file, and modify it how you want (within limits of course), and then run Map2XY and your .xy file should match the modified .map file

With Map2XY you can change the name and y position of worlds. X position is also changable, but has limits.

Capt Maim knows how to change values, but it's not an exact science from what I understand.

There aren't that many stats associated with a planet.
If it's your HW then choose the hab yourself !!
(anyobody know what the radiation coverage on Earth is ?)
