Well since Pebble in the Sky has finished, it is time for me to host a new game. Nothing flashy, it is based mostly for relatively new players, however anyone who got to the end of Pebble is more then welcome to play.
The settings are:
- Host is NOT playing. (Also host promises not to move in the middle of the game, so he will be more responsive, and no observer race).
- 8 or more players,
- Medium Universe,
- Player positions will be distant,
- Accelerated BBS,
- Galaxy Clumping,
- No public player scores,
- Chaff and split fleet allowed,
- Other cheats banned,
- Claim Adjusters not permitted.
- Ranked Game
Victory conditions will be set to 60% of planets owned, however victory can also be achieved by common consensus, or I'll make a call if the game can't continue for other reasons. Alliances of up to 3 are allowed to claim victory. However the alliances must have at least 2 different PRTs. Pre-game alliances are forbidden (not that I can stop them, but thats not the point).
Once again I'd like to ask for help in getting race files reviewed if requested - it is meant mostly for new players after all.
To join the game send me an email at nash at nash.id.au. Include your name, your race name, your race file, and your forum name. Also place a response here...
Other hosting notes:
Miss 3 turns and you will be set to inactive.
No regens - I'll set the autohost to detect and hold the game on a corrupted file.
Turn generation will be a timetable, 5 times a week initially, moving to 3 once the game gets going.
Current list of players/race name ([#] indicates I have race file)
- Wolf22 // Ae'ie'uao [#]
- Rosencrantz // K'yyzylyky [#]
- Evaron // Heaven Crystals [#]
- Slms // The Narns [#]
- owteufel // The Orkz [#]
- Factor // The Solar Federation [#]
- tuppa // ??
- TomT64 // The Infinite [#]
- ForceUser // The Phinixians [#]
Two maybes:

Evaron wrote on Sun, 06 June 2004 13:42 | I would like to play again. I will get race thought up in a little while. Though as a suggestion, if we are playing with fewer people (or even otherwise) it might be better if we limited alliance numbers that could win or something to 2. I guess I'm just a bit in the mood for less of a giant line down the center of the galaxy between two major federations and their near-vassals while everyone else is incidental in the end, which is kind of what happeend in Pebble after we got a few drops.

Fair call. If the numbers are 8 or less, I think a maximum of a 2 way alliance is a good idea. Personally I like a 3 way alliance as it means diplomacy should really be going on in the alliance, as well as out side, and you can have hidden members and the like easier.
Hopefully I can get a dozen or more, and as long as 9 or more players are there, 3 is a good limit.
Of course having seen what had happened in pebble, alliances up to 5 or 6 way can happen during the game... Just not for victory.
