Since upgrading to direct X 9.0b I can not see my fleets or fleet paths in Stars. Everything else in Stars displays properly. I've tried reinstalling stars, upgrading my display driver...everything I can think of. Unfortunately I can not uninstall driect X 9.0b. Any Ideas? Suggestions?

Thats an interesting one. Sherlock

Is anybody else seeing issues with directx 9.0b and Stars?

Which operating system are you using? If you are using Windows XP you can use the 'system restore' (start->programs->accessories->system tools->system restore) to roll back your OS to prior to installing DX9b.

Another trick: disable your display adapter in the Device Manager, that will force your computer to start in VGA mode, which will look awfull, but might display Stars properly...

You can uninstall directx if need be, did it once due to other possible bug to revert to 8.x version. Somewheres on the internet are utillities to do so.

A quick search hit http://download.pchome.de/show.php?SID=2503, probably better sites available.

Also changing to troubleshooting mode to disable all but basic video functions can help. Easier to give exact directions if your OS version is known.

Thanks for the replies,
I'm running XP home edition service pack 1.
system restore did not work, and I am hesitant to try the uninstaller as I don't have the XP install files - the vendor provided a 'restore to factory settings' disk instead.

I think I'll wait for DX 9.1 to come out, until them, I'll play stars on an older system.
