Interest in new ranked beginners game |

I'm thinking of hosting a new ranking game. As there is already one in progress for intermediates, I plan to make it a beginner game.
Probably 8 players, medium packed, no teams of more than 2 players.
Ranking would be based on a formula based on score at a fixed date (probably 2500). The formula would favour teams where both members are closely matched.
Top team would advance to "advanced beginner", all other players would stay at "beginner" level.
Host would not be playing.
Anyone interested ?

"no teams of more than 2 players."
You will want to be precise what you mean there to avoid later arguements. So for example, can you set non-team members to friend, tech trade, ship trade, diplomacy?

The actual game annoucement will be more specific in a number of ways, but at the moment I am trying to guage interest as there have been a few new beginner games recently and I'm not sure if there is any demand for another.
In this case, you can have anyone you like set to friend, and can tech-trade as you like. However, teams will have to announce themselves at, say, 2475. Only one such announced team can win.

As there seem to be more beginner games than beginners at the moment, I am going to withdraw this one from the running.
If you were interested, I suggest you check out Crusder's thread about "All Things Being Equal" which is also about a ranked beginners game.
