I see that I am now a full fledged crewman. I guess I should learn to shut up.

How many posts do I need to make to gain "Conscientious Objector" status?

Hmmm... I don't see a smilie, so have to assume you're serious.

There is no "Conscientious Objector" rank. See the FAQ for the different ranks available.

Plus, it's not the fact that you're talking, but it is what you are saying that is making your rank go up. You're talking intelligently and adding valuable input into the forum.

You have to aspire to be unintelligable and valueless.

You know.

Heck, I'm beginning to get depressed Crying since it seems like it's not going to take me much time to get to the godhood of Master Chief then get dropped to the insignificant rank of moron cadet officer Wall Bash. I think once I reach Master Chief I'm going to ask moderators to assign 1 negative point for each positive point they give me New idea. That way I won't ever have to suffer the indignity of going from Master Chief to officer cadet status.

The Royal Navy just has cooler ranks than the U.S. Navy.

Why be a "Lt. Junior Grade" when you can be a "Sublieutenant"?
Why be a "Rear Admiral Lower Half" when you can be a "Commodore"?

We're using Star Trek ranks (Navy). Yes, it is a bit weird to from a top NCO to a cadet, but thats the way to get up to an Ensign.

Well, if you *really* want to get stuck at a certain rank, I suppose I could *try* to remember not to assign rank points to any of your future posts, no matter how insightful/helpful/worthy. Rolling Eyes

Actually, Warrant Office comes right after Master Chief.
Then comes Cadet lvls 1-4, then Ensign.

Check the FAQ here

The cadet ranks are a pain. But that's part of the price you have to pay to become an officer.

I managed to get a rank that is off the FAQ list Very Happy

Embarassed I wish I hadn't "earned" it in the first place, but I'm enjoying working it off. I figure at this rate of posting I should get back up to "Civilian" in about a month... Rolling Eyes

The dishonorable dischage and ban is certainly painfull - however, you did earn it and deserve it. I can only hope you learn from it.

It is a ban from playing games on Autohost and from hosting games.

Embarassed

I believe I have, and I hope I will get the opportunity to try to prove that. I'm hoping others will also learn by my example.

It would've been very easy to drop this handle, but I think the Stars! community is such a strong one, and honesty so crucial, that it is better for me to stick with this handle and attempt to regain trust rather than make people worry about having another Troll in the community.

Well, I think most of us would be lying if we said we never thought about cheating.
I've been really mad at another player who continually weakens me even though his tactics are extremely bad. (What are those frigate designs? If I just knew his password. Sneaky )

I do not agree at all.
I have been playing Stars! since 1995. I have NEVER considered cheating. Anybody who does is very simply a mediocre individual that can not achieve success on the merit of their own intelligence. I have zero compassion or tolerance for a cheater and, when I find one - I remember them forever and warn all other players and hosts about them.

I equate cheaters to be in the same league as other criminals in the world.

I have to agree with you there. Nod

The last time I cheated at something I was 6 or 7 (I think).

Left me with a bad feeling. Sad Sick

Not to start anything here (I do condemn cheating), but to compare a cheater (in a game...) with other criminals (murderers, rapists etc.) goes a bit far IMO. The latter do a bit more damage. Let's just refer to cheating as childish? Rolling Eyes
