Game will be on Autohost.

Turn rate: Tu-W-Th-F-Sa for at least the first 20 turns, and will change to Tu-Th-Sa upon request of any one team after turn 20.
Turns are generated at 4.00 AM GMT.

Number of Players: 12 (4 teams of 3)
Universe size: Medium
Universe density: Packed
Player Starting Positions: Distant
Skill Level: Advanced

Game options:
___ Beginner: Maximum Minerals
___ Slower Tech Advances
_x_ Accelerated BBS
___ No Random Events
___ Computer Players Form Alliances
___ Public Player Scores
___ Galaxy Clumping

Introduction:
Before the start a third party will remap the planets of the medium packed universe into 3 rings. All races in one team will be placed close together, two races of each team will start in the outer ring, one will start in the middle ring. There will be no discussion or choices about which race will start in the middle ring, and which races are in the outer ring. Placement of the races within a team will be random.

Medium Packed means 540 stars, or IOW 45 per player.

The universe will look something like this.
The blue dots are the HW's, the green lines are showing which HW's belong to one team. This is very rough, the HW positions won't be exactly like this! This is just to give you an idea. The setup person is very experienced with this sort of games, and he will do his best to make sure that all team positions are fair relative to one another.
An universe example can be found here.

The setup person might play a 13th race as an observer. He must be set to friend and will have all other races set to neutral.

Rules:
- ALL players except your teammates (and observer) will be set to enemy (neutral party will check from time to time), battle orders will be set to attack enemies (unless in special cases like when you want to infiltrate enemy minefields without sweeping). This is not just a technicality, they ARE your enemies, please treat them that way.

- The neutral party will keep a list of all passwords, to check on the player relation settings. Passwords will not change unless you send the new one(s) to the third party.

- CA is banned.

- No cheats allowed, except for chaff and split fleet dodge (keep it reasonable). You can find a good (but not complete!) bug list at http://www.starsfaq.com/bugs.htm or here at the forum in The Academy (this one is more complete and I suggest your read this one).

- One person playing more than one race is not allowed, unless when teammates are on holiday or when a race is almost dead. Please inform the host about this.

- Players missing more than 3 turns will be set to inactive (but I assume teammates will take over when they know their friend will miss a turn).

- When an entire team drops there will be no search for replacements, such a search could dramatically slow the game down and trying to replace an entire team is nearly impossible.
I strongly ask for NO UNREASONABLE drops (reasonable is when you remain with so few planets that when you leave the game the "gift" to one of your opponents doesn't hurt the game balance).

If in doubt please contact me (the host) or the third party.

Victory conditions:
The game will be over in 2500.
Each planet will have a point value: planets in the outer ring=1, middle=2 and center=3. Due to the different sizes of the rings in practice all the "whole" rings have about the same value. The team with the most points wins.
To collect the points for a planet there has to be at least 100.000 pop on the surface and a starbase in orbit (the starbase hull or above are valid, fort and dock are not).

A team owning the complete center ring ( =pop+base as above for each planet) at any time in the game will win immediately.

What to do:
To save a slot in the game send me an email with the names and email addresses of the 3 players of your team (team name preferred but not required). I'll sent you a reply and in that message I'll include the neutral party in the CC, then the race files should be sent to the neutral party (NOT to me!!).

Please apply with a full team, matching up solo players doesn't work 99% of the time, you'll need a team that is used to playing together.

Send your race files WITHOUT password to the neutral party. This makes it easier for him to do the setup. You can tell him what you would like as a password and he'll change it once he's done with the setup and before he sends the files to AutoHost.

The setup of the universe might be a pain because of the remap, it might take a week (after receiving all race files) depending on the luck of the third party and his Real Life.
