<(o)> Watcher News <(o)> 2430 Edition

We came, We scanned, We chuckled...

Watcher reporters are now well spread in the galaxy, we expect Eye-Net to be fully functional to scan all planets simutaneously in the next few galactic periods. Eye-Net service will only add a small 59.99 GC fee to your normal cable or satellite bill.

Multiple reports of galactic littering have been received. Most claims are that these Pandar and Dog droppings are interfering with warp engine emissions and galactic commerce. Given the current galactic tax laws and the Watcher belief in "small government" (the Watcher speak softly and carry a pointed stick) there is currently not much wiggle room in the budget for extra sanitation sweeper ships. Residents are thereby expected to handle local garbage problems themselves for the time being.

And there has been a copyright violation charge filed with the Watcher Bureau of Investigation. The Pandar claim that another race is illegally copying and using their registered trademark ships. My, what will you people come up with next.

Investigation has come to the conclusion that the recent "Northern Lights" displays seen from Watcher Central are in fact *not* a natural phenomena, but instead the reflection off of galactic dust clouds of exuberant use of torpedoes and energy weapons in a concentrated manner. The Watchers appreciate, and expect, rambunctious celebrations amongst the weaselly population of IIc. However, the little eyeballs shouldn't be kept up past their bedtime by such displays.

And, in response to another query, there are no leash laws in the IIc galaxy. Dogs (and other pets and varmits) are allowed to wander where they want. However, they travel under no guarantee of safety - except for the limited refueling rights at Watcher Central.

And the 2430 census has been completed, including another nice territory map. [Going to experiment a bit now with the more recent 'animation' feature in XB since I only need Watcher pxx files instead of a mix in order to cover the galaxy. If this goes well I'll put that out at the game end.]
