Glad to help.
Once you add the shared folder options using virtual box additions, you can conveniently share files between the real computer and the vm.
Do set the shared folder to auto mount using the settings option.
Also, you can install Dropbox directly onto the vm and it works quite nicely.
This way, I have my archive ready across all computers, while using the shared folder to transfer files to my main computer, when I don't want to use the vm.. For eg, the .p reports for data mining or when I don't want to use IE in the vm to download or upload files.
I know my minefields.. but I'm a chaff sweeper.
