pgarnold wrote on Tue, 06 May 2003 09:48 | I would highly recommend you just not use Netscape. Yes, you can follow the recommendations on this thread and get it to work but then a new problem develops. That problem is that now when you view your Stars! director, you no longer see the file type.

1) Do not try to convert me away from Netscape. As I said above I am not really interested in a Holy War at this time. I have a good list of reasons why I will not use Explorer and Outlook, and I do not really want to go into them here. As a side note, I know that IE and Outlook have their uses. They just do not work for ME.
2) I do not have the problem seeing file types.

What to do, just use Outlook Express for file sends. It is free and a whole lot less hassle. I hate Microsoft as much as the next guy but sometimes it is just easier to capitulate and use the easy solution.

Netscape is free too. And is a whole lot less hassle than OE IMO. And I do not hate Microsoft. For many things I like them. I just happen to have many good reasons not to use IE and OE.

First I could find no way to do it WITHOUT editing the Registry. This is a simple job but be very careful and follow directions exactly or you could kill your machine and need to reload the Op System.
Go to Run and enter regedit, click on OK button.

It happens that as a side business, I repair computers. Unless there are specific unusual circumstances, I will not touch the registry. Much too dangerous. Therer are almost always better ways.

This works for Win 2000 and Win XP.

And as I said before, I am running NT...
