This isn't completely correct. Yes, if the diameter of the MF, or at least the part of it you need to sweep, is 81ly or greater then you should go all 81ly at warp 9. Otherwise you need to go 65ly at warp 9 irregardless of the diameter of the MF. You need to go 65ly because the MF impact die roll is done for the distance actually travelled, not the speed traveled;e.g., going 64ly at warp 9 gets treated as if you travelled at warp 8.

Chaff sweeping is IMO a vital skill for offensive warfare in Stars.
