Right, don't trust Stars! Calc when it comes to overgating.

Now IIRC weight is determined by *both* gates, so a typical 377kT BB takes damage twice going through a 300/500 on both ends.

Correct that distance is determined by sending gate. One exception though when you are using the MT Jumpgate, it has no own limits so distance here is limited by the destination gate.
