I also sort fleets by ETA and look at the other end to look for fleets taking longer than they should - there is always a fleet or two that I want to move at warp 9 that are actually only moving at warp 6 or something.

Another sort I do is reverse sort by cargo - to make sure all my fleets with cargo on them are actually moving.
