Though the impetus for this thread came from the regen in Together Again, I would like to have the discussion go beyond that particular instance. For one thing there was little disagreement about the regen, though one player did note that combat had occured and regening gives the loser the opportunity to revise their turn.

That is the issue, that anytime there is a regen players get the opportunity to see into the future and revise their turns accordingly. One option that has been voiced here is a strict no regen policy, but I personally do not think that is desirable as there are many situations in which it is unfair to one or many players.
