A screen record wouldn't work since you would not see what is in the production queues for a planet or what ships are in orbit for any planet. Also, you would lose all the automated transport orders that move minerals and populations. The only thing you would see is how many planets were populated and whatever other info overlay is selected for the screen. This would leave you wondering 'how did all those planets get populated' Wall Bash
