Borders, Smorders!

Borders are imaginary lines drawn by those who think they are owed something for nothing. Just because your home world is at location x, that does not imply that mean that the area around x belongs to you? Borders are worth their weight in reality, exactly nothing.

If a player could have used a planet within his “borders”, he should have settled it. Did he consider that denying someone else of a planet that he cannot use, based on location alone, is the “act of aggression”, not sending a colonizer to an uninhabited planet?

I say let your people grow and let your neighbors grow. Help your neighbor grow and he can return the favor. Don’t deny growth based on location alone. In this small universe, we are all neighbors. Don’t liter it with artificial fences. They only create artificial antagonism.

The only things agreed to at the start of the game in this universe is that we each have a home world and that PCP is the President Seat for which we are all vying. I do not remember any mention of borders. I see no reason for there to be any borders in an open universe.
