2.6 does not have ANY sounds? cause I like to beat up the computer in my spare time while listening to music, but every battle I enter it crashes it cause the sound card is already in use (yes its an old computer/sound card) if this is the case where can I get it?

You DO know you can just turn the sounds OFF... it's under the "Command menu" > "Battle sound FX"
Or something like that.. (I used to have the same problem, and if it didn't crash stars would just stop playing sounds until all copies were closed and restarted...So... ANNOYING...) Another option is just to snag a 2nd sound card, and route Stars to one and music to the other.. Worked for me. Grab a couple audio cables, link the cards together and you'll never know the difference.


Speaking of sound, can anyone tell me where to, or how to get the ACTUAL STars! music to work? Actually I think it's a where, cause the exec don't contain it. I've always wanted to know what kinda looney noise they thought would be fun to play stars with.


Oh bout Auto host, those are upgrade patches, ergo it requires me to actually HAVE said version to upgrade to or from. Getting the patch itself is useless cause it's just an exec modifyer program.. And I don't have the exec any are designed to modify.

The music is on the Stars! cd ...
You can even just play it on your normal cd player.

IIRC if you turn the in game music on but put a different cd in your tray Stars! will play the music that is on that one.

And who the heck changed the title of this thread? I'd still like some old patches, cause if version 1.1 is an indication, they had some interesting quirks back then.
