"You may safely travel two warp speeds faster than the stated limits through enemy mine fields."
I have always interpreted this sentence so that the maximum safe speed is raised 2 levels in the calculations.
But I guess it *could* be naively implemented with a couple of if-statements ignoring triggering the mines 2 levels up from safe speed, but it could then still be 0.9% and not 0.3% chance for warp 7 on standard fields etc. Has anyone actually tested this?

Dunno if they had, but they have now. I just sent a bunch of SD frigates to their explody doom at Warp 7 through a standard minefield, and it looks a lot more like 0.3% per ly than 0.9% (84%, 83%, 85% survival; 0.3%/ly would predict 86% and 0.9%/ly 64%).
