Quite All Right
REGISTERED Version - 2.7
J Patch will be used.
25 hour gen.
Game will be held on Autohost.
16 player game.
Novice-Intermediate player level (further details below)
TINY Universe
SPARSE Density.
Distant Player positions.
NO Accelerated BBS play (unless consensus otherwise - further details below).
NO Public Scores.
Your race MUST have the mid-point of each habitation range 20 clicks from the right or closer, i.e., mid-points of grav hab >= 3.20g, temp hab >= 120C, rad hab >= 80mR. So ALL races will be 1WW and hab-compatible with each other.
PP is NOT allowed. If you're going to play JOAT - better get your defenses up quickly!
Victory Condition: Winner has 9 Homeworlds, or the consensus is that a race is unstoppable (likely about 6 or 7 Homeworlds).
Alliances may be made, but you will have to turn against your ally at some point to win the game. This isn't rummy - you can't win by combining your collected HWs!
This is going to be a cutthroat game, and because of the furious pace, I've decided to not have Acc.BBS so to give a little time for at least a little diplomacy. Not that it'll last for long - blood will flow in this galaxy! If you'd rather have Acc.BBS, if there is a majority consensus, then we will go ahead with it.
If you have played more than one Tiny-Sparse PBEM before, where the number of races present was more than 4, then this game isn't intended for you. If you consider yourself an 'expert', or at least quite good, then you can play if you take AR as your PRT. I want everyone to have a fair shot at winning this, so I'll leave it to your judgement.
If interested, do not send race file until monitor is chosen. The host WILL be playing. (Anyone in particular want to be the 3rd party and check habs & keep passwords for me?)
If you miss four or more turns, you will be placed inactive. If you miss eight or more turns, a replacement will be sought. This may be waived if you inform me or the monitor in advance.
Cheats will not be allowed, although split&dodge, within reason, is a reasonable 'tactic' (this is cutthroat, after all, and there isn't far to run!). Chaff, if we get far enough for it to be viable, is allowed.
Gen time is up for negotiation. There will be minimum MM in this game but hopefully maximum diplomacy. RP is not necessary in this game, I would say just focus on getting in the best diplomatic position!
Don't feel bad about losing in this galaxy - this is meant to be fun! I'm no good either, I'll end up gone before even I know it! But if I'm going to be a space hump, I'm going to be a BIG space hump!

I'm interested, this game might be over very quick and won't take much time, so might be do-able to join without putting too much load on my Real Life ... But not sure yet.

Don't see why, it would take two races to take down a good JoaT OWW. Besides that the JoaT PRT must be somewhat the easiest to hide! So you might never know who is a JoaT ...

This would be my second Tiny game, I'm not an expert but I might be "quite good" However taking an AR into an OWW game is suicide, it's like playing an OWW -f. You can't get much resources from pop (the only source for resources for an AR) on a starbase, you need death stars or at least ultras and they come way too late ...
The one game I played Tiny there was an AR, it was easily taken out by a WM.

After eight turns there won't be much left for a replacement

IMHO not more than 24h, with only one planet there is not much to do

Thank you EVERYONE for your interest.
All Righty then, I'll now receive race files - but don't tell ME the password! Make sure you note the race conditions - your habs must be totally - or very near - right. You can PM them to me (in which case, tell me your email as well), or send them to my email account at djhakase@bigpond1111.net.au (take out the numbers before emailing!)
I'll also PM everyone shortly with details.
About the monitor - tprescott, I think, is going to help out here. He'll collect passwords and check hab ranges.
The gen time is going to stick at 25h, including weekends. If everyone turns in earlier, well, the game's going to go much quicker!
Ta, Alex.

I currently have 10 players, including myself, registering their interest. I'll give 3 days or so before sending it to the List to fill the rest of the slots - is there anyone there who doesn't read here?!
I'll be asking for a forum as well. Hopefully there'll be lots of messages furiously flying about - telling info about rivals could be a way to defend yourself after all!

A lot of races will be bumped out quickly even without AccBBS, like within 20-30 years I think, and there's a minimal amount of MM to do. Even scouting should be easy, there's only 24 worlds to look at!
I've put you down now as a player, I can tell you need your Stars! fix...

Yes, besides starting ships and planet flybys I don't think there'd be any way to tell - and with no public scores, maybe things like ramping & tech levels wouldn't be able to help either! But you wouldn't be SD or WM so that knocks out the two big contenders.

You're welcome to play, I just wanted even little ol' me have a chance of walking away! After all I'm not so much interested in winning this game, as actually surviving to the final stages so I can watch it all unfold!

I have received expressions of interest from about 12 people, and I'd like to start shortly, so I think I'll start with that many once all the races have been submitted. At the latest, on Friday (say midnight Saturday morning GMT?) I'll ask Tom to send me the races he has got so that we can start.
Mines in - is yours?! Make sure to send them, with your race file password, to Tom at Prescott255 at hotmail dot com - he will send me the confirmed race files and I will start the game.
Oh, you all might want to note the slight flexibility I put in for the hab range. This is so that perhaps a race could be designed to be less desirable to conquer than another one! Of course, there's all those race wizard points to pay for it!
Let's try and make this game as interesting as possible!
Alex.

So it the game closed now?
Due to massive (RL) Ice Storms, I did not heard anything about this until about an hour ago...
Like Micha, I have a lot of experience with team games, but only one Tiny (the same game as Micha even! No I was not the AR...)
