Hey,
I am creating a new game where we have pre-set alliances.
I have two teams of 3, with a guy who is going to be in the middle.
Galaxy is large.
Team 1 is players 1 - 3, team 2 is players 5 - 7.
Is there any way of me forcing these players together, ie, Team 1 at the top of the map, team 2 at the bottom?

Problem i have is that i have absolutely no idea what a .map is
Guessing its a universe creator thing?
Ill have a peek, see if this actually is the case.
Think i have figured it. Got the dump from a test game and it basically just involved my players submitting their planet name and co-ordinates to me. I then change the .map file so they are in approximately the same area.
Since the game hasn't started yet, should work out fine.
*slaps face*

I do have copies of all the knows Stars! utilities ever created and I have used them all over the years.
If you want to send me all the turn files and passwords, I will set the universe up for you with the teams in the same areas of the universe - top and bottom halfs with the 'center' player being in the center. I can also create the universe with planet distributions in one arc at the top, one arc at the bottom and a conglomeration of planets in the middle.
You can send the files to Ptolemy dot stars at gmail dot com and let me know what you would like to have done.

Though we often ask how and why, we must also do to get the answers to the questions.Report message to a moderator
