Since no one replied I assume the source is lost...

Well, maybe some of you could help me understanding some of the formulas used in starts....

Here is the first question:

How stars calculate the value of a planet, based on your race habitat?

Thanks for any help,

Sergio Silva

I remember when Mathias (a fellow Belgian!) made it available, several years ago now. Did a quick search on the newsgroup, here is the result. But the link (to Aliens site) is dead ... However Alien is still around (here at the forum and on the IRC channel #stars!) so might be able to give you some pointers where to find it ...

You might want to try mithandir /at/ falldowngoboom /dot/ org (remove the spaces and slashes) to directly contact Mathias ...

You could also look at Posey's spreadsheet. It has lots of formulas, including the hab formula.

It's available on starsfaq.com:

The link for posey's spreadsheet appears broken and I couldn't find the spreadsheet in that download directory.

I did find as part of pacal (packet calculator) mention that the source for starscalc was in delphi, and open source available.

...

To add, have emailed James of starsfaq fame with mention of broken link and search for starscalc source (which at one time he had). He may no longer be around or have time to respond, but thought it was worth a shot if he does.
