Got some time right now, but also have a big team game that promises to be a BIG time-sucker on the horizon. Therefore, I figure I can spare the effort to get a new game started as a non-playing/observer host.
Therefore a poll. Results not guaranteed to be my decision, but I will take it as a heavy recommendation indicating some interest from the player community.
Quick Summary of what the various game names are. Full details will be in the game advertisement when it comes out:
CHoS V - 5th game in the "Children's Hour of Science" series.
Eight races plus a central observer in a medium sparse. Generally used for beginners or low intermediates to get their feet wet. Observer/host will answer questions of a general nature, but avoids giving specific tactical advice. The previous four games tended to run in pairs since I got a good response and then attempted to pack what seemed to be the better players together.
=====
RWIAB III - 3rd series of "Rabid Weasel In A Box".
Eight or nine races in a small packed. All races must be AR, or use factory settings where factories cost 25 resources to build (-f races essentially). I would consider this an intermediate game. Players from RWIAB IIa, IIb, and IIc are about - plus there are reviews viewable in the game forums.
=====
Transformers - "new" series
Eight or nine races in a medium normal. Intermediate game.
Two special rules:
1. No DN, BB, B-52, or Nubian hulls can be used.
2. Nothing over Tech level 20 can be put on a hull.
One "bonus":
All players will receive 5 special "Transformer" ships at the start of the game. These will be an ultra-miner hull fully loaded with Orbital Adjustor modules.
=====
Qbert
Eight or nine races in a medium sparse. Going to remap the galaxy into a series of squares just to toss a different star geometry into play. Vanilla other than that.

Transformers got my vote.
I wonder what type of engine, those 'Transformers' get. In such a game this may be an important consideration.
More valuable than a HW, I can see lots of effort going into keeping them moving and alive and trying to kill them (perhaps with cloakers). Interesting effect on war (offensive weapons?).

Going to answer the last three posts at once...
1) The "Transformer" ship is technically a leftover from a collapsed empire (the races are picking up the pieces). Therefore, the ships are tech beyond current capability (i.e. the tech limit special rules). Therefore, they will be equipped with TS-10 engines and are (especially early game) high maneuverable. Also, the load-out of the "nose" slot (3 elec/mech/scanner/armor) can be selected by the player. The only rule here is that no scanner beyond a DNA Scanner can be put on the ship. So a player will have the option of putting armor, cloaks, scanner, etc. If they want to use up the slots I guess I will allow them to mix types.
2) I expect the ships to have considerable value to the players. They are very useful for development, *and* for offensive purposes. Thus I half-expect they will be targetted when opportunity permits.
3) I picked five as the number of ships to allow some capability in keeping up with expansion, along with some ability to survive the loss of one or two ships. But, there are not so many of these ships to make them cheaply expendable.
And I'll collect feedback and see what can be tweaked to improve things if there is a sequel.

Poll closed. Thanks to all that voted.
Transformers a clear winner, followed by CHoS V.
I'll put together a game advert in the next couple of days.
Given the upcoming Easter holiday I will consider delaying game start until April 19th or so. That should allow plenty of time for sufficient players to be gathered and race files submitted.
