Here are this week's puzzles. Standard 24hr timelimit, PM me your answers.
5 puzzles, with #3 having two parts, so 6 actual puzzles. Get any 5 right for 1 chance to become this week's Puzzle Master, or get all 6 right for 2 chances.
1. The vowels have been omitted from this quotation. Can you replace them?
TSWSFTHRTHTKNWSHSWNCHLD
2. What number should replace the question mark? (IQ style, like last week's)
37 | 95 | 22
58 | 106 |21
96 | ? | 23
3. Consider the following equation, which is obviously false:
11 = 113355
a) Can you insert four line segments into this equation to make it correct?
example: a '-' is one line segment, while a '+' and a 'x' are 2 line segments.
b) Same question, but now you are only given three line segments to work with. To give you a break, the equation doesn't have to be exact, but it does have to be accurate to six decimal places!
4. Two ferryboats traveling at a constant speed start moving at the same instant from opposite sides of the Hudson River, one going from New York City to Jersey City and the other from Jersey City to New York City. They pass one another at a point 720 yards from the New York shore.
After arriving at their respective destinations, each boat spends precisely 10 minutes at the opposite shore to change passengers before switching directions. On the return trip, the two boats meet at a point 400 yards from the Jersey shore.
What is the width of the river?
5. A real estate mogul bought a piece of land for $243, divided it into an equal number of lots, and sold the entire package for $18 per lot. (The prices are low since this occured over a hundred years ago.) The mogul's profit on the entire deal was equal to what six of the lots had originally cost him.
How many lots were there in the piece of land?

Out of 3 people submitting at least 5 correct ansers (2 got all 6 correct) mazda, HiltonL, and Ashlyn, the RNG picks HiltonL as this weeks Puzzle Master.
Here are the answers.
1. iT iS a WiSe FaTHeR THaT KNoWS HiS oWN CHiLD
2. No one got the book correct answer of 812. (6 + 2 = 8, 9 + 3 = 12) but 2 people turned in the same alternate answer of 92 (flip the first number and add it to the third one to get the middle one.)
3. a) 11 = - 11 + 33 - 55
b) The book answer was
----
pi = 113 | 355 (pi is obtained from placing one line segment horizontally on the top of the two 1's , the the other two line segments make the division sign, as when you write it out in longhand.
One alternate answer is:
1/pi = 113/355 (This alternate answer is correct to '7' decimal places.)
The other alternate answer is: 1/1=1^13355, although there are no decimal places in this answer, 2 people turned in this one, so I'll accept it.
4. You don't need to know anything about the boats' relative speeds.
When the boats first meet, the total distance they have traveled equals the width of the river. By the time they meet again, the total distance traveled equals 3 times the width of the river. The boats are each traveling at a constant speed, so they each will have traveled three times as far by the second meeting as the distance they'd traveled by the first time they met. Because the boat starting in New York had traveled 720 yards at the first meeting, it must have traveled 2160 yards at the time of the second meeting. But this distance is 400 yards from the other shore, so the width of the river equals 2160 - 400 = 1760 yards.
5. 18 lots
Mogul makes X lots at 18 each.
Profit is 18X - 243 (initial cost).
We are told this equals 6 x initial cost per lot.
So 18X - 243 = (6x243)/X.

[edit, forgot to inlcude #5 answer.]

One assumes you mean -11 - 33 + 55.
