OK so I went a little over the top for my actual battleships...
Battleship
20x armageddon missiles
6x valanium
8x Gorrila delagator
6x battle super computer
1x over thruster
4x transgalactic super scoop.
Tech levels required
14/24/12/16/11/0
I managed to build over 100 (119 actually) by 2456
My final tech levels were 14/24/12/16/13/17 (I said I went a little over the top)
Galaxy was small, packed, maximum minerals and accel BBS.
The race managed a whooping 68k in 2456 (57k in 2450).
The resource increase started to curve off at 2447 since I stopped colonising in 2440.
tech run was as follows....
rush to tech 4 in construction
rush to tech 9 in bio,
then tech 8 in construction,
then to tech 17 in bio
then research levels to the required amounts for the BB's.
I used privateers initially but quickly replaced them with LF's and SFX's for crash and burn colonising.
Race Design...
IFE, TT, ISB, ORBM, RS
0.51g to 1.96g
-96c to 96c
26mr to 74mr
Growth rate of 20%
(race can colonise any planet with TT 25%)
1000 pop per resource
5/25/5 factories
10/3/17 mines
bio weapons and construction cheap
energy normal
prop and elec expensive.
My question is can anyone beat that?? IIRC Barry Kearns set the benchmark at 2459 to build 100 BB's (he actually managed 169 IIRC) of a lesser design than I managed.
If you can then please post the details. That way any game we play on autohost will have us banned from taking CA
