We did it for awhile in Get the Planet, and I think it's a good candidate for this game, too. I know some people have a life or kids and a wife to hang with at times, but I don't.
My suggestion would be we to switch to 3 turns/week as soon as a player sends a requests to the host. As long as there is no request, we just continue as usual.
That is correct, if there is no request to slowdown, we keep the current schedule. The rules only say when slowdowns can be requested.

I'm in for another beginner's game. Got some updates for my race I want to try. Or just another race...
Is this new game without diminished experts to be played by anyone, full-on experts included, or just with newbies? I think it would be fun with much the same setup, but with experts allowed to be full. Maybe we newbies have learned enough by now to go it, so long as we still ally with an expert, maybe not.
Further editing: But then I suppose it's not a beginner's game, anymore.
Weren't PPS supposed to be on at turn 30? I don't remember reading anyone request they not be used.

I like the idea of pros being paired with newer guys. I would suggest that alliances are arranged pre-game though, or the host proclaims them at turn 1. I suppose this comes with the possibility of poorly matched race alliances though.
Do we have enough players for a newbs-only battle?
