What are the actual victory conditions? I can't find those anywhere in this thread.

That's coz there aren't any. You have to keep playing until 3400 - 1000 years of war and then I'll pick a winner randomly. Seriously tho, Consensus, or similar, usually works. ie If everyone else still playing agree's you've won, then congratulations. Thumbs Up If you say you've won and someone disagrees, well at least you know who to kill next Twisted Evil

I was quite fond of

screaming defiance with the last breath,
to spit in Sightblinder's eye on the last day."

We're good for generation! Smile

As in, I have all the race files, emails etc. (Assuming I haven't forgotten anything again.)

I'll probably do an initial gen sometime this afternoon and all going well, should have everything set up and off to Ron next week. Smile

Update!

I've genned the game, and have all the planet info..I know where to put the the HW's, I know how to translate the terrain. I'm having trouble with VB Scripting tho.. specifically (of all things) moving the HW's. PaulCr's Planet swapper is corrupting the hst file(and doesn't alter the .m files) so I'm trying to use the hst editor to do it. If I can't figure it out next week I'll call in some help from Paul or Wumpus.

Sort of...

I've contacted Paul who looked into it and confirmed problems with planetswapper(crudeness) and SHE(planetID/Data only readable). He was going to look into it on the weekend and maybe produce an alternate version of SHE, but I haven't heard anything from him since. I'd rather get the tools fixed from him and do it properly, but if need be I'll use up a couple of the initial turns to keep the files clean between steps.

Oh, no rush, just wanted to see if anything was happening.

We've all waited a while for this to happen; I'm sure no one will mind waiting a bit more Smile

Update...

I should confess to having had files from PaulCr since 24 Dec 2008...hmm that's sounds really bad when you describe it as "last year" Confused ...but ya'll would've called for a break for Christmas/New Year anyway right? right? bueller? Rolling Eyes

Anyways...I *ahem*downloaded them and had a poke at them tonight...cheeky sod has changed the game name to HHGTEST, but he's successfully isolated(and fixed) a bug in the en/decryption algorithm and added some stuff to the dll - a function to swap planets around, and some other stuff he didn't go into, and which may or may not be complete. But I do have a shiny new starshosteditor.dll Very Happy

Sooooo....

I WILL! get some game files done this week. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

...assuming nothing else goes wrong Rolling Eyes

PS I now have C&C3, Portal and the complete Sims2...they is goood Very Happy

Now now, Portal is truly a fantastic game. Not competition for Stars, as it is a physics abuse/puzzle game, so no complaints out of you!

I have vague memories of something like this... we didn't have passwords, did we? Because I can't remember one, and that could be a problem if one existed.

We are approaching the begining of our game, so will all players please make sure their tray tables are in their upright position, seatbelts are on and any cellphones or other electrical devices are turned off. If players would care to look here they will see that the game is up and ready. Players wishing to submit their initial turns should have their email from Ron handy with their upload passwords. The game will begin as soon as all players have uploaded their initial turns. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to ask your host for assistance. Thank you for you patience during this game's enlistment and creation process. We hope you have a pleasant game. Cool

Hi gible:

I guess you can close this thread. But could you set up a game thread for us. There will probably be some things we need to discuss such as...

Hi all:

We did not discuss meeting in the game and when we can commence negotiations and tech trading. Is it at any time with anyone, or only with those we have met.
