Given that I first announced in July and its now October...that probably won't be a problem Very Happy

umm... 4 1/2! Multi bounce

I think that the main problem is too hard to create legal race for this rules. I’m sure many visitors think this. Maybe if will be better to see real parameters such race or example of racefile even.

hmm...I don't think its that hard...just set habs to 1/8(LLL) and tune from there...I've been able to build everything from -f to HP so there's room for some variety...the only thing you can't do really is take immunities.

So it's looking like the game may take place after all! Cool. Now if I can remember what my race design was... ROFLMAO

How would I test a race design tho? I haven't done anything with the Host Editor & am not inclined to muck about with it a lot atm.

For anyone struggling with this, I've been doing my testing with the habs centered and expanded until I've used up the leftover points. I think this will provide the closest reasonable approximation of game conditions without going through the bother of editing.

I've narrowed my race down to one of four PRTs and one of two econ types! I ought to have my race done by next week... I hope. Laughing The decisions are even more difficult than I thought.

Since I think I'll play in Stone Age Slaughter instead for now, since it's starting soon... can you set me back to a "maybe"? At the rate this is going my other game might me more or less over by the time Home High Ground gets started, so I'd just have two games going on to worry about.

Nooooo - we had 6 plus 2 maybes, for an 8 player game.
We were so close to starting (or at least thinking about starting).
Come on lets try to get this game started by Christmas

heh...I can't say I'm suprised Coyote's "gone to maybe"...although I am suprised its taken this long for someone to do so.

The real question is how long should I wait before giving up? (should I ever?)

Having proposed unusual extensions(subtensions?) of Stars! before, I'm well aware of the lack of play-interest they receive (tough at the top anyone?) If I didn't personally think the idea(s) were worth playing I wouldn't propose the games but if it dies from lack of interest I won't mind. There's always other(more bizarre) ideas to be founded. I think its more in the timing. Non-standard games tend to attract only more experienced players, and it seems that most of the experienced players now happen to have other games going...

In the Beginning is at 2464 with 50-hour gens, so I should be able to confirm in about a month. I'll start tinkering around with race designs.

Hang on a while longer - this is the most interesting design challenge I've had and I'd like to see the race in action. I've only got the final tweaks to factories/mines/pop efficiency left.

If I've done my analysis correctly, the game should be relatively short. If I'm wrong, it will be painful and very short - at least for me. Rolling Eyes

Hello gible,

Since I was one day too slow to confirm to get into Stone Age Slaughter, I'd like to play in your game. I haven't put any effort into creating a race yet, but can work on that by the weekend. I assume you aren't so close to getting started that I need to put a rush on it.

umm.. on the off-chance that you didn't notice, you may want to have a quick re-read of this thread paying particular attention to the dates...

Ok...everybody brace yourself...

Multi bounce We have 8 players! Multi bounce

The lineup:
( Thumbs Up = have race)

Simon Strange Thumbs Up
Joseph
Marduk
Stephen Thumbs Up
bigcanuknaz
Dashiva Thumbs Up
leknufrag
Effluviant Walrus Thumbs Up

...and the others...
Coyote Thumbs Up
GreyMatter

Without trying to be pessimistic, I'll contact and re-confirm the older players. In the mean time, it looks like we'll actually going to be going ahead so Joseph, Marduk, bigcanuknaz and leknufrag, please to be sending me race files (next week sometime will be fine) Smile

Oh yes...while I'm sorting out race files(and making sure I can locate and identify the one I say I have), can everyone please pm me their email address or just email me at gible@gible.net (I always forget this part of game organising). If you emailed me your race file I'm assuming you want AH to email turn files to the same address(unless you say otherwise and hell I can change it later anyway).

FYI Just waiting on one racefile. If you haven't received a confirmation "got it, is good" style reply to your (latest) race file, please send it again (check your email first).

I don't have the exact quote, but "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!" seems pretty close.

And on the other side of things, "To the last, I grapple with thee; from Hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee."

this is what is best in life. not some mere victory condition.

this will be the battle cry of the defeated. again, not a victory.

something like this might be better: "there are 1,000,000,000 citizens in your empire, not counting women and slaves, and you probably only know the names of about 30 of them. but they ALL know your name and what you look like."

or perhaps: "you alone are left to ravage the galaxy"

or even: "Austin 3:16 says I just kicked your a*s*s and that's all I got to say about that!"
