The question is:

Does it matter if a fleet of LBU bombers has lower fleet number then a fleet of standard (e.g. Cherry) bombers when bombing the same planet (in order to take defences with LBU first and then kill pop with Cherries)?
I heard that when 2 (or more) players are bombing the same planet, a player of lower number should bomb with LBU bombs and a player with higher number with standard bombs. Is the same analogy for fleet numbers?

Regards,
Feliks

look at:

http://www.starsfaq.com/order_events.htm

at event 24 you see in what order the damage of bombs is calculated. it doesn't matter (per player!) which bombs are on what ship with which fleet number (as I read it anyways). Only Smart Bombs are calculated after normals and LBU's
Looks like Normal bombs and LBU's do their damage simultaneously, so if you want to cripple a planet first with LBU's, you have to attack with more than 1 player...
Anybody want to test this Smile ?

I have another bomb question:

Do LBUs destroy defenses before destroying fac/mines? If I have a B-17 with a slot of LBUs and a slot of standards, does it matter which slot they are in? I'm wondering about the slot firing order for weapons and wondering if the same thing applies to bombers, as this would be a way to make the LBUs bomb first.

No, all installations are destroyed in proportion to the total, for example if you have 700 factories, 200 mines and 100 defenses, and 100 installations are destroyed you will lose 70 factories, 20 mines and 10 defenses. Therefore you have to flatten a world to destroy all defenses.

I seriously doubt it does matter. Stars! used to do bombing by fleet, but it was too easy to take advantage of it by sending bombers in seperate fleets, so they totaled all bombs over all fleets belonging to a single player.
