I'm working towards developing my own server that works with the stars client, as part of that I've been able to decode most of the structure used to display battles, as a test I've created my own battle, I've not written a proper battle engine yet but I hope to have an initial attempt working within 2-3 weeks, in the meantime to test I'll be able to display a battle in the m file successfully I've created a battle manually, I think it makes for an interesting battle, certainly something you wouldn't see stars perform.
Download the M file and XY file at http://stars.atlantissoftware.co.uk/gamex.zip to take a look
If anybody is interested in the actual structure contact me and I'll give you what I have, I'll probably have it written into one of my XML structure files over the weekend, it basically consist of 4 blocks, an header, token information & movement blocks which have 0 or more firing blocks for each target token and usually broken into individual shots for each slot
