What happened to April? I'll tell you what happened to April:

The Stars! Nova team have been flat out getting ready for a release this month. Although this will be a "not for real play" release it will showcase the work and many improvements we have been making over the last year. And there is a lot to show!

To give you some idea of how much has been going on lately:

Our first commit to subversion was 1st August 2009.
Our 100th commit to subversion was 28 March 2010.
Our 200th commit to subversion was 28 April 2010.

So we have done about as much in the last month as we did in the 8 months before that! Of course not all "commits" are equal but it gets me exited to see how quickly progress on Stars! Nova is accelerating.

We are now putting the final touches on new features such as improved turn generation, support for linux/mono, a new map generation system and new ship graphics. I have also had the exciting job of giving all 234 code files a consistent comment and layout style Confused . Next we will settle into some serious stability/useability testing so we can make a release that will be user friendly enough to get some useful feedback on.

I hope to be getting back to you soon with our new release. In the meantime, if you haven't already had a look, check out some of the new ship graphics: https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/stars-nova/index.php? title=Graphics

Have fun.
