I played the Dark Eldars.
Actually I was a last minute replacement for alexdstewert, who had put his money where his mouth was and fielding a -fm race.
Well he would have played it if he hadn't mysteriously disappeared. So I got to play a -fm race.
IT, IFE, ARM, ISB, CE, LSP
0.55 to 1.80g, -80^C to 88^C, Rad immune, 1 in 5 PGR 18%
1/1000, 5/25/5 facs, 9/3/5 mines
Weap/Con/Elec cheap, Prop normal, Energy/Bio expensive
First problem was LSP split across 2 worlds - moved pretty much all my 2ndry worlds pop to my HW, and left it to grow cos I couldn't really do much else.
I then started scouting, and the Pandar's HW was within 81ly of my 2ndry planet. Target #1 was all lined up and waiting, nice and green too.
So I ramped up quickly and researched for warships. Not a problem. I then started to build my fleet, and I ran out of minerals. Not Iron, Not Germ, but Bor of all things (it was below the 30minconc floor).
I would have struck the Pandars before their tech trading with the WM Silver Mines had gotten anywhere but my fleet was in a sorry state. So I delayed a few years and tried to get enough minerals to build a fleet - in that time, the Pandars invaded.
I definately don't recommend factoryless and mineless.
Oh yeah, I should have played this race like an AR, but I'm not a very good AR player, plus you can't remote mine your HW.
