Money? Back in the old days when the Commodore 64 was king, I bought every single new game I seen hit the shelves. Not so much anymore. It's kinda like movies when I was a teenager - it was easy to go see everything that came out, but now there's just too many to keep up with, and I'm less interested because of it. Same with computer games. Now they all look the same, and I browse and decide there's really nothing I want to spend any money on even if it's only a few dollars on the discount rack. Maybe I'm just getting tight-fisted in my old age.

Time? Well, I'm only playing in two Stars games atm (not counting one duel with turn submissions once every week or so and currently very early in the game). I don't know how much time I spend doing the turns and diplomacy, or testbedding, exactly. A lot.

If it's not Stars, it'd just be some other computer game. For years after I quit playing Stars, I played Everquest. I liked role-playing female characters because females can do most anything (except behave like guys) and the more you do the more you endear your character to the others (there were MANY male characters who gave their lives so that my female character could live). Laughing

I said all that to say this: More than once it occurred to me that I spent more time in a year pretending to be a female than I spent in real life acting as a man and a husband. Embarassed My current Stars existance probably rivals my earthly real life existance for time consumption.

I come home from work, grab a beer and a mug, sit down at the computer, and before I know it it's 2am or later (and I have to be to be to work at 7am). I have time to take a hasty shower in the morning, eat a hasty dinner with the wife in the evening (occasionally), grab a quicky when I need one Twisted Evil and almost time for half the amount of sleep I actually need.

But if I start a third game I'm going to have to quit my job. Very Happy

Shocked Then definetly don't start a third game! Your family is more important.

I played EQ for a few months, High-Elf Enchanter (male), got to lvl 16 before I quit.

Awww, you quit before it got really good! Enchanters are lots of fun from 29 upwards. That's mostly what I've played, too.

a) I spend too much of my income on games and hardware in general

b) Stars! eats up too much of my freetime, but I seem unable to do anything against (addicted???)

c) I have enough serials and a home network, but I cannot manage to get my friends to play Stars! - after they have seen it, they tell me I should visit the doctors on a regular basis Wink

d) VML will ruin my relationship one day...
